The Barn Theatre in Cirencester has unveiled an exciting line-up for its 2025 season, promising a mix of world premieres, beloved classics, and new musicals. The season, which features three world premieres, includes the much-anticipated Haywire – A Not-So-Everyday Story of How The Archers Was Born, set to premiere on 1 September.

The season kicks off with A Role to Die For, a new comedy by Jordan Waller about the high-stakes world of casting Hollywood's most famous spy. This rip-roaring comedy opens on 30 January and runs until 15 March, under the direction of Olivier Award-winner Derek Bond.

Following closely, In the Mouth of the Wolf, a new play adapted by Simon Reade from Michael Morpurgo’s World War II masterpiece, will premiere on 31 March. This poignant production explores the deep familial divisions and the heartbreaking choices faced during the war.

Spring brings Educating Rita, Willy Russell’s classic tale of self-discovery and class dynamics, directed by Stephen Unwin. The play, opening on 16 May, follows a working-class hairdresser’s educational journey with a disillusioned academic.

For summer, audiences can look forward to Friends! The Musical Parody, opening on 14 July. This hilarious and nostalgia-packed musical comedy, directed by Michael Gyngell, revisits all the beloved moments from the iconic television series.

Autumn will see the musical The Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown, opening on 17 October. This musical classic beautifully narrates the five-year marriage of Cathy and Jamie, exploring their personal and professional lives in New York.

The season concludes with a festive production of A Christmas Carol, starting 1 December. This fresh take on Charles Dickens' classic story is sure to warm hearts during the holiday season.

The 2025 season, supported by Howden Insurance, showcases the Barn Theatre's continued commitment to producing high-quality theatre that engages and inspires diverse audiences. CEO & Artistic Director Iwan Lewis expressed excitement about the new season, highlighting the theatre’s mission to make live entertainment as accessible and inviting as a cosy night at home with Netflix.
