The celebrated musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, is set to dazzle audiences across the UK in its upcoming 2025 tour. The tour has generated excitement with the announcement of its star-studded cast featuring Donny Osmond and Joe McElderry sharing the role of Pharaoh at select venues.
Donny Osmond, known globally for his phenomenal success both as a solo artist and as part of The Osmonds, will be playing Pharaoh exclusively at the Edinburgh Playhouse from December 3, marking his first time performing the role on a UK stage. Osmond's return to Joseph is highly anticipated, having famously portrayed the titular character Joseph in over 2,000 performances previously.
Joe McElderry, who first captured the nation’s heart as the winner of The X Factor in 2009, will reprise the role of Pharaoh in various cities including Sunderland, Canterbury, and Nottingham, among others. McElderry's previous portrayal of Joseph has left audiences eager to see his dynamic return to the musical.
The production will also star Christina Bianco as the Narrator and Adam Filipe taking on the role of Joseph. Bianco, known for her viral diva impression videos, brings her versatile vocal talent to the musical, while Filipe, recognized for his roles in The Prince of Egypt and Les Misérables, is set to bring a fresh energy to the leading role.
Michael Harrison, the producer behind the tour, expressed his excitement about bringing together such a talented ensemble, ensuring that the production remains a must-see for theatre lovers across the country.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has delighted audiences worldwide with its vibrant music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. The musical features famous numbers such as "Any Dream Will Do" and "Close Every Door," and continues to be a beloved family musical, combining pop, country, and rock musical styles.
Tickets for the tour are available now, with performances scheduled across major cities including Leeds, Manchester, and Birmingham.
