Cameron Mackintosh has unveiled brand new footage and production photography for his latest rendition of Lionel Bart’s beloved musical, Oliver! This fresh glimpse into the production comes ahead of its premiere on 14 December 2024, at London's Gielgud Theatre, with bookings now extended through to 28 September 2025 due to high demand.
The production promises a spectacular reimagining of the classic tale, which has been collaboratively reconceived with the legendary director and choreographer Matthew Bourne. This new adaptation of Oliver! has already enjoyed a record-breaking run as part of the 2024 Summer Season at Chichester Festival Theatre, signalling a grand success.
The cast features Simon Lipkin reprising his role as Fagin, Shanay Holmes as Nancy, and Aaron Sidwell as Bill Sikes, amongst other distinguished performers. The show tells the timeless story of Oliver Twist, a young orphan navigating the perilous and thrilling underworld of Victorian London, accompanied by memorable songs like "Consider Yourself" and "As Long as He Needs Me."
With an eye for innovation, Mackintosh's production integrates stunning new choreography by Matthew Bourne and set designs by Lez Brotherston, alongside advanced lighting and sound design that promise to immerse audiences in Oliver’s world like never before.
For those eager to catch a glimpse of the production, new footage and photography are available, showcasing the high-calibre artistic elements that characterise this highly anticipated show. Tickets are available now, with new Sunday matinees and additional midweek performances scheduled to accommodate the growing interest.
