Sam Tutty and Aimie Atkinson have been announced as the first cast members for Drew Gasparini’s We Aren’t Kids Anymore, which will have its world premiere at the Savoy Theatre on 28 April 2025. The new musical will combine a heartfelt narrative with a second act concert of Gasparini’s celebrated works, featuring special guests yet to be announced.

Tutty, best known for his Olivier Award-winning performance in Dear Evan Hansen, will be joined by Atkinson, a West End favourite known for SIX The Musical and Pretty Woman. Both actors expressed excitement about bringing Gasparini’s unique vision to life. Further casting will be announced soon, completing a five-member company.

We Aren’t Kids Anymore is a contemporary musical that explores the universal challenges of growing up and navigating life’s successes and failures. Originally an autobiographical concept album, the show tells its story through five perspectives, crossing age, gender, and generations. Gasparini’s music, spanning styles from pop and rock to country, offers a fresh take on musical theatre, breaking traditional conventions to deliver an emotionally resonant experience.

The production is directed by Richard Fitch, with choreography by Chris Cuming and musical direction by Lauren Hopkinson. Following a successful workshop in June 2024, anticipation for the concert-style performance has only grown. The show is produced by End of the Pier Productions in association with Norwich Theatre, with creative support from Bray Productions.

Gasparini, known for his scores for Broadway musicals like The Karate Kid and It’s Kind of a Funny Story, brings his unique approach to this production, promising a fresh take on traditional musical theatre. The involvement of such high-calibre talents as Tutty and Atkinson, both celebrated for their performances in major West End shows, adds significant allure to the production.

Tickets for We Aren’t Kids Anymore will be available for general sale from 4 December 2024, following a pre-sale sign-up starting on 29 November 2024.
