Cameron Mackintosh's spectacular new production of Lionel Bart's beloved musical returns to the West End at Gielgud Theatre, directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne. Book Oliver! tickets for the show that critics are calling 'triumphant' and 'unmissable'.
Oliver! brings Charles Dickens' immortal tale of the orphan boy who dared to ask for more to thrilling theatrical life at the Gielgud Theatre. Young Oliver Twist escapes the brutal workhouse only to fall into the clutches of Fagin, a cunning criminal who leads a gang of young pickpockets through Victorian London's shadowy streets. There Oliver meets the charming Artful Dodger, the kind-hearted Nancy, and the terrifying Bill Sikes.
Lionel Bart's sensational score remains one of British musical theatre's greatest achievements. From the opening cry of "Food Glorious Food" to the tender "Where Is Love?", the raucous "You've Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two," and the devastating "As Long As He Needs Me," every song is a classic. Book Oliver! tickets to experience Cameron Mackintosh's fully reconceived production with Matthew Bourne's fresh vision of this timeless story.
Matthew Bourne's direction and choreography reimagines Oliver! with the theatrical innovation that has made him one of Britain's most celebrated directors. Following a triumphant premiere at Chichester Festival Theatre and critically acclaimed West End opening with multiple five-star reviews, this production has extended repeatedly due to extraordinary demand. Oliver! tickets are among the most sought-after in the West End – book early to secure the best seats.
Lez Brotherston's atmospheric design transports audiences to the teeming streets of Victorian London, from the grim workhouse to Fagin's den to the elegant home of Mr Brownlow. Simon Lipkin's Olivier Award-nominated performance as Fagin has been hailed as 'magnificent' by critics. Don't miss this landmark revival of Britain's most beloved musical.
The Stalls at Gielgud Theatre offer excellent views of Matthew Bourne's intricate choreography. The Dress Circle provides a great overall perspective of the elaborate staging. When booking Oliver! tickets, central seats in the Stalls or front Dress Circle are ideal for experiencing the full magic of this production.
Oliver! is one of the best family musicals in the West End, recommended for ages 7 and above. The show combines spectacular staging with timeless songs that generations have loved. For other family-friendly West End shows, consider Matilda The Musical at the Cambridge Theatre or The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre.
