Making its Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut following a critically-acclaimed run at Brighton Fringe 2017, this fearlessly funny show challenges stereotypes and examines the pressures surrounding women as they venture beyond fifty.  Combining surrealist comedy and frank sincerity, Enter the Dragons is a hilariously sublime comment on modern womanhood.

Written and performed by École Philippe Gaulier alumni Abigail Dooley and Emma Edwards, this award-winning production mixes elements of clowning, puppetry and physical comedy with a narrative that expertly subverts the traditional hero’s journey.  The show navigates modern ideals of beauty, sex and feminism as the protagonist must overcome the challenges and riddles set by the mystical characters who inhabit the landscape of the Banished.  Dooley and Edwards present a comedic call to arms, marrying a wry exploration of the trials and tribulations of ageing with a delightfully dark surrealism as our protagonist embarks on an epic quest to halt the ageing process – or at least re-brand it.

Enter the Dragons is directed by Toby Park, Artistic Director of critically-acclaimed comedy company Spymonkey, and renowned theatre and opera director William Kerley, with wonderfully outlandish costume and production design by Lucy Bradridge, best known for her work with Spymonkey, Cirque du Soleil and The Mighty Boosh.

Enter The Dragons presented by A and E Comedy runs at the Pleasance Dome from 1 – 27 August 2018 as part of the Edinburgh Fringe.
