Dear Evan Hansen is a musical with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and a book by Steven Levenson. Dear Evan Hansen tickets are on sale now.
Opening on Broadway in December 2016, the musical won six Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Score. The origins of the musical comes from an occurrence during Pasek’s school years when a teenager invented an important role for himself in a tragedy that he did not earn.
Dear Evan Hansen opened in the West End at the Noel Coward Theatre in November 2019. The production starred Sam Tutty who would go on to win the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance (one of the youngest actors ever in this category).
Due to the COVID pandemic the production closed in March 2020 and has recently re-opened (26 October 2021).
A feature film adaptation has been released starring Broadway’s original Evan Hansen – Ben Platt.
