La produzione del The Young Vic di Uno sguardo dal ponte ha vinto per Miglior Revival, Miglior Attore e Miglior Regista mentre Sunny Afternoon ha vinto per il Miglior Nuovo Musical, Miglior Attore, Miglior Attore Non Protagonista e Riconoscimento Eccezionale nella Musica.

Dame Angela Lansbury ha ricevuto il suo primo Olivier Award per la Miglior Attrice Non Protagonista.

Lo spettacolo The Play That Goes Wrong ha vinto il premio per la Miglior Commedia per Mischief Theatre.

Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, Memphis e City Of Angels hanno vinto due premi ciascuno.

La serata si è conclusa con un'emozionante interpretazione di Bridge Over Troubled Water di Kevin Spacey e Beverley Knight. Spacey è stato appena premiato con lo speciale Olivier Award per il suo lavoro nell'ultimo decennio all'Old Vic.
