MISS SAIGON - AN EPIC MUSICALMiss Saigon is a modern-day retelling of Madame Butterfly and was created by the team that wrote Les Miserables - Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schoenberg.Following an epic original London run which saw the show performed over 8000 times at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Miss Saigon re-opened at the Prince Edward Theatre in May 2014 confirming its place as one of the great eighties mega-musicals staged by Cameron Mackintosh, musicals which included Cats, The Phantom Of The Opera, Les Miserables and Miss Saigon! . The revival is already breaking box office records with over £4million of tickets being sold on the first day of sales.WHAT IS MISS SAIGON ABOUT?Miss Saigon is set in 1975 during the final days of the American occupation of Saigon, Miss Saigon is an epic love story about the relationship between an American GI and a young Vietnamese woman.

Kim is working in a sleazy Saigon night club owned by a notorious wheeler-dealer known as 'The Engineer'. John, an American GI, buys his friend Chris the services of Kim for the night. That night will change their lives forever.

THE STAGINGJust as Phantom has its chandalier and Les Miserables has its barricades, Miss Saigon became known as the musical with the helicopter and you'll be pleased to know that it's back utilising more modern technology that in its original incarnation.  It's quite something to hear it arrive over your head and then to see it onstage as evacuees climb aboard ready to leave Saigon.THE MUSICThe score of Miss Saigon is every bit as epic as the production itself. One of the greatest musical scores ever written its romantic and lush, and is guaranteed to sweep you away.BUY TICKETS FOR MISS SAIGON NOW!HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAYRecently Miss Saigon celebrated it's 25th Birthday with a special performance where tickets were sold at 1989 prices.
