Please look after this bear! The world's most beloved marmalade-loving bear makes his spectacular West End debut at the Savoy Theatre. With music by McFly's Tom Fletcher, a book by Olivier Award winner Jessica Swale, and direction by Luke Sheppard (& Juliet, Starlight Express), Paddington the Musical is a 'warm, witty' (Time Out) celebration of family, belonging, and hard stares.
When a small, lost bear from Darkest Peru arrives at Paddington Station, a chance encounter with the Brown family changes everyone's lives forever. The Browns show Paddington the wonderful world of Windsor Gardens, but London isn't all afternoon teas and friendly faces. When a mysterious villain sets her sights on Paddington, the family embarks on a thrilling rescue mission – realising they need this special bear as much as he needs them.
The musical draws from both Michael Bond's beloved books (first published in 1958) and the award-winning Studiocanal films. The story follows Paddington's arrival in London and includes the villainous Millicent Clyde from the 2014 film. However, it's a brand new theatrical adaptation with original songs that bring fresh magic to this timeless tale.
Tom Fletcher (McFly) has written an entirely original score for the show. Songs include 'One of Us', 'Rhythm of London', and other numbers that capture Paddington's journey from lost bear to beloved family member. The Original West End Cast Recording is available to stream now.
Without giving away the magic, Paddington is brought to life through an innovative combination of puppetry and performance. The bear is performed by Arti Shah (in costume) with James Hameed providing the voice and remote puppetry. The result is a Paddington who feels remarkably alive and full of personality.
The Savoy Theatre is a beautiful Victorian venue with excellent sightlines. The Stalls offer the most immersive experience, while the Dress Circle provides a great overview of the staging. For families with children, seats in the front Stalls allow little ones to see all the action.
Cancellation policy: theatre tickets cannot be cancelled, exchanged, or refunded once purchased.
Paddington is performed by Arti Shah (in costume) and James Hameed (voice and remote puppetry). The cast includes Victoria Hamilton-Barritt as Millicent Clyde, Bonnie Langford as Mrs Bird, Brenda Edwards as Tanya, Adrian Der Gregorian as Mr Brown, Amy Ellen Richardson as Mrs Brown, Delilah Bennett-Cardy as Judy Brown, Tom Edden as Mr Curry, and Teddy Kempner as Mr Gruber.
Paddington the Musical features music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher (McFly) and a book by Olivier Award winner Jessica Swale (Nell Gwynn). It's directed by Luke Sheppard (& Juliet, Starlight Express), with choreography by Ellen Kane, scenic design by Tom Pye, costume design by Gabrielle Slade, lighting by Neil Austin, sound by Gareth Owen, and musical supervision by Matt Brind. Produced by Sonia Friedman (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) with Studiocanal and Universal Music UK.
Paddington the Musical opened at the Savoy Theatre in November 2025 to five-star reviews and rapturous audiences. Critics praised the innovative puppetry, Tom Fletcher's catchy score, and the emotional depth of the storytelling. The show has extended multiple times due to demand and is now booking to February 2027. The song 'One of Us' was tipped as a Christmas number one contender.
