Les Lucille Lortel Awards 2020, récompensant les productions Off-Broadway, ont été célébrés et annoncés le 3 mai 2020. Les prix pour la saison abrégée qui s'est déroulée de 2019 à 2020 ont été animés par Mario Cantone (diffusant depuis son appartement à New York), avec des bénéfices destinés au Actors Fund et ses efforts pour aider ceux affectés par la crise du COVID-19. Cette année, les prix ont mis en lumière un total de 101 productions éligibles (55 pièces, 19 comédies musicales et 19 reprises), 41 spectacles ont été reconnus avec un total de 95 nominations. En tête pour la soirée avec trois victoires chacun, la production de la Signature Theatre pour la comédie musicale Octet de Dave Malloy et la production de Playwrights Horizons pour la pièce Heroes of the Fourth Turning de Will Arbery — toutes deux premières mondiales — remportant respectivement le prix de la meilleure comédie musicale et de la meilleure pièce. La production de Playwrights A Strange Loop de Michael R. Jackson, la production Vineyard de Dana H. de Lucas Hnath, et la reprise for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf de Ntozake Shange par The Public Theater ont chacune remporté deux prix. Cette cérémonie de remise des prix était comme aucune autre, avec les autres animateurs participant depuis leur lieu d'isolement respectif.
