Los Premios Lucille Lortel 2020, que reconocen las producciones Off-Broadway, se anunciaron el 3 de mayo de 2020. Los galardones de la temporada abreviada 2019-20 estuvieron presentados por Mario Cantone (retransmitiendo desde su apartamento en Nueva York), y los beneficios se destinaron a The Actors Fund y a su labor de apoyo a quienes se vieron afectados por la crisis de la COVID-19. A la cabeza de los ganadores de la noche, con tres premios cada uno, estuvieron la producción de Signature Theatre del musical Octet, de Dave Malloy y la producción de Playwrights Horizons de la obra Heroes of the Fourth Turning, de Will Arbery —ambos estrenos mundiales—, que se alzaron con mejor musical y mejor obra, respectivamente. La producción de Playwrights de A Strange Loop, de Michael R. Jackson; la producción de Vineyard de Dana H. de Lucas Hnath; y la reposición de The Public Theater de for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf, de Ntozake Shange, se llevaron dos premios cada una.
