New Cast Joins the Heroic Journey from 5 March 2025

London’s electrifying production of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is welcoming a heroic new cast as it continues its critically acclaimed run at The Other Palace until 31 August 2025. Based on Rick Riordan’s best-selling fantasy novel, this action-packed musical adaptation continues to thrill audiences with its dynamic performances, witty humour, and mythical adventure.

Morgan Gregory Steps into the Role of Percy Jackson

Morgan Gregory (Back to the Future) will officially take over the lead role of Percy Jackson starting 5 March 2025. Having already wowed audiences as an understudy, Gregory’s performance has been praised by The Times for its “rich vocal versatility and lightning-flash dynamism.”

He joins a stellar cast of returning performers, including:

  • Paisley Billings (SIX) as Sally Jackson/Medusa

  • Philip Catchpole (The Book of Mormon) in the ensemble

  • Alex Waxman, who made her stage debut with The Lightning Thief, also continuing in the ensemble

Fresh Faces Bring New Energy to the Stage

New to the production from 5 March 2025 are:

  • Lizzy-Rose Esin-Kelly (Frozen The Musical) as Annabeth

  • Angus Benstead (Blippi) as Grover

  • Jazz Evans (Spamalot) as Mr. Brunner/Poseidon/Hades

  • Joshua Lay (A Chorus Line) as Mr. D

  • Kenedy Small (SIX) as Clarisse

  • Xander Pang (Dear Evan Hansen, South East Asian Premiere) as Luke/Ares

  • Owen Lloyd (Girl from the North Country) in the ensemble

  • Rachel Moran (Just For One Day) in the ensemble

A Mythical Musical Adventure That Captivates Audiences

Based on Rick Riordan’s beloved book series—which has sold over 180 million copies worldwide—The Lightning Thief has already been adapted into films and a major Disney+ TV series. The musical first premiered Off-Broadway in 2014 before making its way through two US national tours, a 2017 Off-Broadway revival, and a Broadway debut in 2019.

The story follows Percy Jackson, a seemingly normal New York teenager who discovers that he is actually the half-blood son of Poseidon. Thrust into a world of mythological gods and monsters, Percy must come to terms with his newfound powers, destiny, and a dangerous quest to prevent a war between the gods.

With a mix of humour, adventure, and heart, this high-energy musical delivers an unforgettable theatrical experience.
