Nomeações para os Olivier Awards 2020 Anunciadas

As nomeações para os Olivier Awards 2020 foram anunciadas esta manhã, com & Juliet a arrecadar nove nomeações. Os Olivier Awards realizam-se no Royal Albert Hall, a 5 de abril de 2020.

Gavin Creel e Alexia McIntosh anunciaram esta manhã as nomeações para os Olivier Awards 2020, com & Juliet a liderar as nomeações de teatro musical, antes da cerimónia de entrega de prémios a 5 de abril. O novo musical jukebox & Juliet, baseado nos êxitos de Max Martin, recebeu 9 nomeações, incluindo Melhor Novo Musical, Melhor Atriz num Musical, Melhor Cenografia e Melhor Figurinos.

Foto: Johan Persson A reposição (revival) de Trevor Nunn de Fiddler On The Roof, que estreou na Menier Chocolate Factory antes de se transferir para o Playhouse Theatre, recebeu 8 nomeações, enquanto o êxito da Broadway Dear Evan Hansen recebeu 7 nomeações, incluindo Melhor Ator num Musical para o seu protagonista de 21 anos, Sam Tutty. A reposição de Mary Poppins de Cameron Mackintosh recebeu 6 nomeações e voltou a ver Sir Matthew Bourne nomeado (no ano passado recebeu um Prémio de Reconhecimento Especial).

A muito aclamada produção do Young Vic de Death Of A Salesman, de Arthur Miller, viu Sharon D Clarke e Arinzé Kene nomeados para 5 prémios, a par de Rosersmholm, que valeu a Hayley Atwell uma nomeação para Melhor Atriz.

Peças clássicas como Uncle Vanya, Present Laughter e Cyrano De Bergerac receberam 4 nomeações cada. A Very Expensive Poison, de Lucy Preeble, e Leopoldstadt, de Tom Stoppard, foram ambas nomeadas para Melhor Nova Peça.
