Blackpool Grand Theatre has announced that with the generous support of producer Martin Dodd of UK Productions, panto legend, BBC Radio Lancashire presenter, and Britain’s Got Talent ‘finalist’ Steve Royle, and special guest West End and TV’s Tom Lister a condensed and COVID-safe pantomime fundraiser will ensure Christmas isn’t cancelled this year at Blackpool’s Grand! The Christmas production Pantomonium! will run with strict COVID safeguards for a limited time and for a limited period – a sell-out is guaranteed! Created by Jon Monie (winner of Best Script at The Great British Pantomime Awards 2019 for ‘Beauty & the Beast’), Pantomonium! is a specially written, one-act pantomime about pantomime. When the beloved panto character, Fairy Tales, is kidnapped by the villainous Killjoy, an extraordinary adventure unfolds as the hunt for the all-powerful magic book begins. Stepping out of the chorus-line, a young unnamed girl from the village of Ensemble joins the adventure to help find the missing manuscript. Along for the ride is the handsome Prince Charmless, and the hapless Tilly and Billy Topps from the local Panto Emporium. With laughter and mayhem at every turn, the forces of good and evil fight to the final page over the future of pantomime itself. A concentrated pantomime……just add laughter!

The spirit of Christmas can never be defeated, and just like Santa, panto will always find a way to make an appearance! That is certainly the case at Exeter Corn Exchange, where preparations are being made for this year’s pantomime, The Wizard of Oz! In true theatre tradition the show must go on and with the Coronavirus pandemic, organisers have been working hard to ensure this year’s production allows safe family fun, with extra precautions put in place. These include socially distanced seating, extra cleaning and a shorter running time without an interval. Expect plenty of madcap singing, cheering, hissing and booing, magical sets, stunning costumes and Exeter’s favourite dame, Daniel Page, will once more take to the air in a hilarious flying sequence! All in all, audiences look set to be able to enjoy a treasured Christmas tradition with confidence!  Families can expect to take home a heap of great festive memories!

The magical “tale as old as time” of Beauty and the Beast tells the story of an arrogant Prince who is turned into a beast as punishment for his vanity. He has only one chance to lift the curse: to find true love before the final petal falls… With countless West End credits behind them, the full pantomime cast will include Maria Coyne (Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, Singin’ in the Rain) as Beauty with Lily de-la-Haye (CATS, The Phantom of the Opera) as Sybil, Paul Kemble (School of Rock, Top Hat, The Sound of Music) as Monsieur Bertrand, Ben Redfern (Mary Poppins, Billy Elliot, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as Potty Pascal and Jordan Wheatstone (The Little Princess, Disney’s Broadway Hits) as the Beast. As previously announced, Philip Day (Oliver!, The Mousetrap) will return as Godalming’s pantomime dame, playing Dame Dominique Derrière. Directed by Jo Kirkland, choreographed by Charlotte Bateup and produced by Nick Wyschna and Charlotte Bateup for Guildford Fringe, this professional production will feature spectacular song and dance routines, colourful costumes and lots of fun for the whole family. The venue will operate at a greatly reduced capacity to allow for social distancing. Face coverings will be mandatory. Group bookings will allow a maximum of 6 people to sit together. The show’s duration will be approx. 1 hour 15 minutes with no interval.

This Christmas it’s time to ‘let down your hair’ and join in the fun at our socially distanced family pantomime of ‘Rapunzel’. From the producers of last year’s smash hit Beauty and the Beast, Rapunzel has all the best traditions of a fairytale, but with a new twist and written especially for the whole family to enjoy. Gravesend favourite ‘MAMA G’ (Aka: Robert Pearce) returns as Dame Dolly Dumpling, along with the side-splitting ventriloquist ‘Nicky Trix’ as Joey the Jester. The Hilarious Rob Cummings as King Albert completes the professional cast. See the evil Witch Horrorbella cast a spell on young Rapunzel, locking her away in a tall tower deep within the woods. But in her bid for freedom, she falls in love with the dashing Finn Strider while Dame Dolly Dumpling and her witless son Joey the Jester do all they can to locate the princess and return her to her loving father, King Albert. There will, of course, be laughs aplenty this Christmas with all your favourite routines. The Boombox will make a return along with a gaggle of ghosts to hinder the quest to find Rapunzel. And before your hairy eyes joy the Jester will discover his limbs have a life of their own in a hilarious ultra-violet sequence. We guarantee you won’t be ‘let down’.

This year’s pantomime Red Riding Hood, which will play for a limited run of socially-distanced performances. Written by Jonathan Ashby-Rock, with original songs by Philip Ryder this is the sixth year this duo has produced a pantomime for West London audiences.  Red Riding Hood will also be live-streamed and available on-demand for patrons who would prefer to watch the show at home. Tickets for online viewing are ‘pay what you can’ (minimum of £2 per device). The cast include: Daniella Piper playing the title role of Red Riding Hood, Danni Payne playing Stickles, Emma Powell playing Husk, Philip Ryder playing Brickles, Jonathan Ashby-Rock playing the Prince Claus, Rushand Chambers playing the Huntsman Eric, Adam Russell-Owen playing Wolf Wolfram and introducing Paige Jarratt playing Granny Hood, who makes her professional stage debut. The Big Bad Wolf has escaped from prison and is on the loose! For one year only, pantomime comes to the National Theatre. Jude Christian and Cariad Lloyd’s hilarious and heartfelt version of Dick Whittington, first staged at Lyric Hammersmith in 2018 and freshly updated for 2020, will open in the socially distanced Olivier theatre on the 11 December.
Directed by Ned Bennett, this wild and inventive production explores what it is like to come from a small town and arrive in a big city today, exploring the ideas of community and togetherness. Initial casting includes Dickie Beau, Amy Booth-Steel, Lawrence Hodgson-Mullings​, Georgina Onuorah, and Cleve September.
Set and costume designs by Georgia Lowe, choreography by Dannielle Rhimes Lecointe, compositions, arrangements and music production by DJ Walde, music supervision by Marc Tritschler and music direction and additional composition and arrangements by Benjamin Kwasi Burrell. Follow the yellow brick road to The Atkinson this festive season, where LHK productions will whisk you over the rainbow in their wizardly wicked Christmas pantomime, The Wizard of Oz. Appearing larger than life in virtual reality, the multi-talented musician, Dancing on Ice and Hollyoaks star Ray Quinn as the magical Wizard of Oz. The fabulous cast also includes the voice of the airwaves, Claire Simmo from BBC Radio Merseyside & Sandgrounder Radio as Glinda The Good Witch, West End star Chris Barton as the Cowardly Lion, the hilarious Lewis Pryor as Scarecrow, the loveable Mia Molloy as Dorothy, Southport’s Tom Burroughs as Tinman and everyone’s favourite dame Michael Chapman as The Wicked Witch.

Get ready to go on a family adventure this Christmas with the fabulous family-friendly pantomime, Beauty And The Beast. This is the timeless story of Belle, a beautiful young woman who falls in love with the most unexpected of princes, who has been cursed to look like a hideous beast. Will the Beast learn to love and be loved? Will the spell be broken in time for all to live happily ever after?  “Beauty And The Beast is a stunning tale full of friendship, faith, love and escapism – something we can all resonate with right now. Once again, we’d like to thank the community for their ongoing support, and we look forward to welcoming audiences to a special and safe festive family experience.” Beauty And The Beast replaces the previously announced festive show Cinderella which should have featured Birds Of A Feather star and Loose Women panellist Linda Robson in the lead role. Government-enforced restrictions on theatres sadly made it unviable financially as the fairytale is one of the biggest and most costly pantomime productions to stage.

We’re grateful to the support of The National Lottery who have helped us ensure panto can return to the Regent Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent and will be joined by much-loved Stoke regulars Jonathan Wilkes and Christian Patterson in this year’s unmissable family production.

Wicked Productions are set to leave audiences in a QUIVER as they return this Christmas to bring some much-needed
fun and MERRY MEN-T with this year’s alternative production of Robin Hood and his Socially Distanced Merry Men. 
Following such a difficult and challenging year, the team at the EM Forster Theatre and Wicked Productions were
determined to bring some panto magic to families this Christmas. The planned extravaganza Beauty and the Beast has
been postponed until 2021, and all ticket holders have had their bookings transferred to next year. In its place for two
weeks in December comes a laugh out loud family pantomime Robin Hood and His Socially Distanced Merry Men. The
EM Forster auditorium is a flexible space which allows for safe audience social distancing in bubbles and family groups,
and the exceptionally talented small cast are local (some live together) and will maintain social distance from each other
throughout the rehearsal and performance process. While the panto may be socially distanced, it is still an unmissable, family festive show packed full of all the slapstick,
crazy jokes, and lashings of traditional panto magic that audiences have come to love and expect from Wicked
