Anunciadas las Nominaciones a los Premios Tony 2019

Las nominaciones para los Premios Tony 2019 se anunciaron hoy con Hadestown logrando la mayor cantidad de nominaciones. La adaptación en Broadway de The Ferryman de Jez Butterworth recibió nueve nominaciones.

Hadestown ha liderado la lista de nominaciones para los Premios Tony 2019 con 14 nominaciones, seguido por Ain't Too Proud, el musical de jukebox sobre The Temptations que quedó en segundo lugar con 12 nominaciones. Siguiéndoles fue Tootsie con 11 nominaciones, la importación británica The Ferryman con 9 nominaciones y Beetlejuice con 8 nominaciones. Las nominaciones de este año serán recordadas más por sus omisiones que por sus inclusiones. Tanto Glenda Jackson como Nathan Lane fueron pasados por alto para las categorías de actor principal con King Lear y Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus respectivamente. También fueron omitidos To Kill a Mockingbird y Network, que se esperaba que aparecieran en la categoría de Mejor Obra.

Las nominaciones fueron anunciadas esta mañana por Brandon Victor Dixon y Bebe Neuwirth.

Esta 73ª ceremonia de los Premios Tony será presentada por James Corden en el Radio City Music Hall el 9 de junio de 2019.
