Anunciadas las Nominaciones a los Premios Tony 2019

Las nominaciones a los Premios Tony 2019 se anunciaron hoy, con Hadestown a la cabeza con el mayor número de candidaturas. El montaje en Broadway de The Ferryman de Jez Butterworth recibió nueve nominaciones.

Hadestown ha encabezado la tabla de nominaciones de los Premios Tony 2019 con 14 candidaturas, seguida por Ain't Too Proud, el musical de jukebox sobre The Temptations, con 12 nominaciones. Después llegaron Tootsie con 11, la importación británica The Ferryman con 9 y Beetlejuice con 8. Las nominaciones de este año se recordarán más por sus omisiones que por sus inclusiones. Tanto Glenda Jackson como Nathan Lane se quedaron fuera por King Lear y Gary: A Sequel To Titus Andronicus, respectivamente, en las categorías de interpretación protagonista. También se quedaron fuera To Kill A Mockingbird y Network, que se esperaba que figuraran en la categoría de Mejor obra de teatro.

Las nominaciones se anunciaron esta mañana por Brandon Victor Dixon y Bebe Neuwirth.

La 73.ª ceremonia de los Premios Tony estará presentada por James Corden en el Radio City Music Hall el 9 de junio de 2019.
