Os teatros do West End voltaram a abrir Com o musical Cabaret a iniciar antevisões ontem à noite no Playhouse Theatre, podemos agora confirmar que todos os teatros do West End reabriram, pela primeira vez desde o início da COVID-19. Em março de 2020, numa decisão sem precedentes na era moderna, todos os teatros do West End foram obrigados a fechar portas. No dia 15 de novembro de 2021, todos estavam abertos. Sem dúvida, permanecem novos desafios, mas tanto a indústria teatral como o público estavam ansiosos por regressar. Foram 609 dias muito longos! A reabertura dos teatros do West End foi liderada pela produção há mais tempo em cena no West End, The Mousetrap, de Agatha Christie, num formato com distanciamento social. Nos últimos dias, voltou o burburinho típico da chegada de grandes novas produções ao West End — e o entusiasmo é palpável. O arranque das antevisões das tão aguardadas produções de Kander e Ebb, Cabaret, com Eddie Redmayne e Jeddie Buckley, e a chegada da adaptação para palco de Moulin Rouge, de Baz Luhrmann, encenada por Alex Timbers, elevaram ainda mais a expectativa.
