Curious Incident e Hamilton são os grandes vencedores do Drama Desk

Foto: Joan Marcus A produção do National Theatre de O Estranho Caso do Cachorro Morto à Noite ganhou seis Prêmios Drama Desk, incluindo Peça Destaque, Melhor Ator em uma Peça e Melhor Diretor de uma Peça, sendo superada apenas por Hamilton, o novo musical de Lin-Manuel Miranda que levou sete prêmios, sendo a primeira vez desde 1983 que um show fora da Broadway (Little Shop Of Horrors) supera seus concorrentes da Broadway. Helen Mirren ganhou Melhor Atriz em uma Peça por sua atuação em The Audience. O show solo de Jim Dale Just Jim Dale atualmente em cena em Londres ganhou Melhor Revista.

Os Prêmios Drama Desk, concedidos anualmente em várias categorias, são as únicas grandes honras teatrais em Nova York para as quais produções na Broadway, Off-Broadway e Off-Off Broadway competem entre si na mesma categoria. Formada em 1949 por um grupo de críticos teatrais, editores, repórteres e editores de Nova York, a organização foi criada para educar a comunidade sobre questões vitais relacionadas ao teatro.
