Matthew Bourne's revolutionary production of Swan Lake is set to mark its 30th anniversary with an extensive tour across the UK and Ireland, promising to deliver an unparalleled theatrical experience. The tour will commence on 11 November at Theatre Royal Plymouth, then proceed to enrapture audiences at The Lowry in Salford before embarking on a special Christmas season at Sadler’s Wells in London from 3 December 2024 to 26 January 2025.

This iconic reimagining of Tchaikovsky's classic ballet, which replaces the traditional female corps-de-ballet with a male ensemble, has not only altered the face of modern dance but has also become the most successful dance theatre production ever. Since its premiere in 1995, Bourne’s Swan Lake has enjoyed worldwide acclaim and influenced generations of theatre and dance fans with its bold and emotional storytelling.

The 2025 tour is scheduled to visit 19 venues over 29 weeks, spanning the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland. Key stops include Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre, the Birmingham Hippodrome, and the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin, with each venue preparing to host this magnificent production. The tour will conclude at the New Theatre Oxford, where it will run from 20 May to 24 May 2025.

Casting for this monumental tour features some of New Adventures' most distinguished talents. Harrison Dowzell, acclaimed for his previous roles in New Adventures productions, will take on one of the demanding dual roles of 'The Swan/The Stranger,' roles known for their intense physical and emotional requirements. Joining him will be Jackson Fisch as 'The Prince' and Rory Macleod in the role of 'The Private Secretary,' each bringing their unique strengths to these complex characters.

Under the expert direction and choreography of Matthew Bourne, and supported by Lez Brotherston’s imaginative set and costume design and Paule Constable’s evocative lighting, this production of Swan Lake continues to push the boundaries of dance and drama. The show's combination of humour, drama, and daring dance sequences ensures it remains a powerful and poignant spectacle.

Tickets for the tour are already on sale, with demand expected to be high due to the historical significance of this anniversary tour. Audience members can look forward to a blend of nostalgia and innovation, as Swan Lake continues to challenge and delight new audiences with each performance.
