For this week's Throwback Thursday we spoke to West End legend Claire Moore. From Phantom to Miss Saigon to Calendar Girls our stages have been graced by Claire's talent.

1) What was your first ever show that you did as a kid and what was it that got you into the theatre world?
My first proper role was as Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance at school. I was 14 and from that moment knew that I wanted to try and pursue a career in theatre.
2) What are you working on now? I was playing Miss Andrew in Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward theatre; we were in our warm-up when we were sent home the week before the official lock-down. That was the last time I was in the theatre. 3) How are you keeping creative in lockdown?
I've been lucky enough to be part of some 'virtual' theatre and cabaret, and they have been raising money for our wonderful industry. I have been teaching a lot too so that has helped me to feel I'm being useful.
At home, we're so grateful to have a lovely garden and I've enjoyed working out there. We've grown loads of veg this year and just now starting to see the fruits (well, veg!) of our labours! I also really enjoy sewing and I've been making a few things.
4) What three things can we always find in your dressing room? I.e Lucky charms...things
that help you on stage...blue m&ms..
I always have my descant recorder in my dressing room. It's been with me since school
and I have used it in my warm-up in every show I've ever done. Also a photo of my family,
and at least one bottle of fizz in the fridge in case of guests!
5) If your life was a musical what would it be called?
Ha ha! I've never thought about that – I think it would have to be called
“Just Bloody Sing!”, which was what my wonderful teacher Joseph Ward at the RNCM would say to me when I was getting in a tizzy about whatever song I was working on. It's still my mantra to myself!
