Room on the Broom is an enchanting stage adaptation of the beloved picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. A friendly witch and her cat fly through the sky on a broomstick, picking up new animal friends along the way: a dog, a bird, and a frog. When the witch loses her hat, bow, and wand, her new companions help recover them. But there is only so much room on the broom, and when a dragon appears, it will take all of them working together to save the day.
Brought to life by the Tall Stories Theatre Company, this production has delighted families for years with its inventive puppetry, catchy songs, and faithful adaptation of one of the most popular children's books ever written. The running time of 55 minutes is perfectly judged for young audiences. The production manages to be theatrical and visually striking while remaining gentle enough for the very youngest theatregoers. It is a perfect first theatre experience for children.
Room on the Broom plays at the Lyric Theatre. The running time is 55 minutes with no interval, ideal for young children. The show offers Sunday performances and is suitable for all ages, particularly children aged 3 and above. The Lyric Theatre is located on Shaftesbury Avenue, near Piccadilly Circus tube station.
For more Julia Donaldson adaptations, consider The Smartest Giant in Town or The Gruffalo. For family-friendly musicals with longer running times, Matilda the Musical and The Lion King are West End favourites.
Cancellation policy: theatre tickets cannot be cancelled, exchanged, or refunded once purchased.
