What is Everybody's Talking About Jamie about?
Everybody's Talking About Jamie is based on the true story of Jamie Campbell, a teenager from Sheffield who defied expectations and bullies to become a drag queen. Set on the eve of his school prom, Jamie must find the courage to be himself in a world that wants him to be someone else. With the support of his mum Margaret, his best friend Pritti, and legendary local drag queen Miss Loco Chanelle, Jamie discovers that the best outfit you can wear is confidence.
Why see Everybody's Talking About Jamie?
This show is a joyful celebration of individuality, acceptance, and the courage to be yourself. The original score is catchy and uplifting, the Sheffield setting gives it a warmth and authenticity that distinguishes it from glossier productions, and the central performance demands both comedy and genuine emotional depth. The show manages to tackle bullying, homophobia, and parental acceptance with humour and grace, never preaching but always moving.
