Alan Cumming, Daniel Radcliffe, Mark Knopfler's musical Local Hero, a new play by Lucy Preeble and the return of A Christmas Carol are part of the Old Vic Theatre 2019-20 season.
The Old Vic Theatre has announced Matthew Warchus' Season 5 featuring an exciting and eclectic mix of thought-provoking entertainment.

Nothing stirs outside. In a bare room, Hamm, an old, blind tyrant confined to a wheelchair, is locked in a stalemate with his servant Clov. Interrupted only by the nostalgic musings of Hamm’s ancient parents, this bleakly funny double act cling stubbornly to their routine of casual savagery and mutual dependence.
Richard Jones directs Beckett’s macabre comedy in which hope and cruelty are the last things to die.

A musical adaptation of the hit 1983 film, Local Hero, adapted by David Greig and Bill Forsyth, directed by John Crowley and with music and lyrics by Mark Knopfler, will come to The Old Vic in June 2020 following its world premiere at the Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh in 2019.
