Nobody's Talking To Me at Watford Colosseum

Tommy Marren’s comedy Nobody’s Talking To Me is to play the Watford Colosseum in Hertfordshire in the one British engagement outside of a tour of Ireland.

The show, which premiered in Ireland in 2016, is being brought to the Colosseum on October 13 by theatre company The Crokey Hill Club which is based in the west of Ireland.

It is set in the kitchen of Mattie and Maggie Conway – a couple who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary but haven’t spoken to one another for 10 years. The only people in on the secret are their daughter Josephine and Mattie’s sister Minnie who live with them.

Disaster strikes when the local priest Father O’Toole decides to surprise Mattie and Maggie on the morning of their anniversary to renew their marriage vows. All hell breaks loose as the reason for the silence unfolds piece by piece.

With sub-plots that include a wake in the house next door, an over-used handkerchief, a tricky crossword, a pair of over-worked knitting needles, a well-oiled whiskey bottle, a very confused kettle and the arrival of an old flame, the comedy promises "an unforgettable night of side-splitting one liners and hilarious Irish wit".

Tommy Marren’s other works include the musical Paddy which was a sell-out success when it played the Watford Colosseum in November last year.

Nobody’s Talking To Me is also touring to Ennis in County Clare, Navan in County Neath, Belmullet in County Mayo, Omagh in County Tyrone, Gurteen in County Sligo, Roscommon Town, Manorhamilton in County Leitrim and Castlerea in County Roscommon.

The Crokey Hill Club was set up by Tommy Marren in May 2007 with the aim of providing theatre audiences in the west of Ireland with original Irish comedy productions.
