Theatre is back! April 2022 is going to be a brilliant month around Britain and here are the Editor's choice of shows we can't wait to see.
April 2022 sees great shows opening around the country. These are the shows we are excited about - our Editor's Choice!
BONNIE AND CLYDE THE MUSICAL (Arts Theatre London) 9 April - 10 July 2022 BOOK TICKETS
Frank Wildhorn and Don Black's musical based on the lives of two of America's most wanted criminals, making their names by staging bank robberies across the country during the Great Depression. Their youth (both were in their twenties), and the legend that has been immortalised on film and now in this musical makes it an event not to be missed. The recent stage concerts of the show at Theatre Royal Drury Lane sold out in an hour, so its great to see Frances Mayli McCann and Jordan Luke Gage will get a change to star in a season of the show at the Arts Theatre.

One of those timeless artists, Cher has been creating popular music over 6 decades and now The Cher Show pays tribute and chronicles the life of this truly remarkable artist. Cher is to be played at important stages in her ligfe by Debbie Kurup, Millie O'Connell and Danielle Steers with the show's direction under the watchful eye of Arlene Phillips, with choreography by Oti Mabuse, costumes by Gabriella Slade and a book by Rick Elice, and 35 hits. The Cher Show should be a great night at a theatre near you!

If you missed this incredible production the first time around you have been granted a second chance to catch Mark Rylance and Mackenzie Crook in Ian Rickson's production of Jez Butterworth's Jerusalem.
ANYONE CAN WHISTLE (Southwark Playhouse) 1 April - 7 May 2022 BOOK TICKETS
It's been a while since there has been a production of Arthur Laurents' and Stephen Sondheim's infamous 1964 flop musical Anyone Can Whistle. The Southwark Playhouse has a knack for finding the wonderment in such musicals with their intimate productions and with the passing of the master late last year the timing of this revival is all the more poignant.
HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH Leeds and Manchester 2 April - 11 May 2022 BOOK TICKETS
Divina De Campo brings singer Hedwig - a hedonistic genderqueer anti-heroine seemingly hellbent on destruction back to the stage in this limited revival of John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask's acclaimed Tony Award-winning musical.
ANYTHING GOES UK Tour From 11 April TOUR DATES AND TICKETS
Following an acclaimed season at the Barbican Theatre last summer, Cole Porter's classic musical kicks off a tour in Bristol which also sees the show return for an encore at the Barbican. The production stars Kerry Ellis, Bonnie Langford, Simon Callow and Carly Mercedes Dyer. It's the tops!

BAFTA and Emmy award winner Jodie Comer stars in the UK premiere of Suzie Miller's awar-winning play and it is also her West End debut! Tessa is a thoroughbred. A young, brilliant barrister who loves to win. She has worked her way up from working class origins to be at the top of her game; defending; cross examining and lighting up the shadows of doubt in any case. An unexpected event forces her to confront the lines where the patriarchal power of the law, burden of proof and morals diverge.
