Ivo van Hove is to direct a new adaptation of All About Eve in London's West End starring Gillian Anderson and Lily James.

Gillian Anderson and Lily James to star in stage adaptation of All About Eve

Golden Globe-winner Gillian Anderson is to play Margo Channing in Ivo van Hove's stage adaptation of All About Eve. Anderson will play opposite Cinderella star Lily James who plays a young Meryl Streep in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again which opens this week. James will play the role of Eve Harrington.

All About Eve is the story of Eve Harrington, an oberly helpful young fan who insinuates herself into the life of a great star, Harrington.

Originally presented in 1950 as a film written and directed by Joseph L Mankiewicz, based on the short story The Wisdom Of Eve by Mary Orr. The movie starred Bette Davis as Channing and Anne Baxter as Harrington. The movie was nominated for 14 Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

It is reported that All About Eve will open at the Noel Coward Theatre in February 2019 produced by Sonia Friedman Productions.
