Giles Terera joins Steve Coogan in Dr Strangelove at Noel Coward Theatre

Olivier Award-winning Giles Terera is to join Steve Coogan in the World Premiere stage production of Stanley Kubrick's Dr Strangelove at the Noel Coward Theatre.

Giles Terera. Photo: Chantel King Steve Coogan is to be joined by Olivier Award-winning Giles Terera in the World Premiere stage production of Stanley Kubrick's classic Dr Strangelove when it opens at the Noel Coward Theatre, London in October 2024.

Due to phenomenal demand, the London season has been extended by 5 weeks. Performances at the Noël Coward Theatre will now finish on Saturday 25 January 2025 before a limited engagement at Dublin’s Bord Gáis Energy Theatre from Wednesday 5 – Saturday 22 February 2025. Over 20% of the tickets for the run at the Noël Coward are priced at £35 or under, around 23,500 tickets in total.

Giles Terera will play the role of General Buck Turgidson. Further casting is yet to be announced. Giles Terera said: “Part of the excitement of doing this project was getting to work with really great people; and the gentlemen who are putting this particular project together operate at the highest level – in terms of their craft of storytelling, comedy, satire and telling really entertaining stories about really consequential subject matters in an entertaining and humorous way.” This jet-black comedy masterpiece, about a rogue U.S. General who triggers a nuclear crisis, is brought to the stage by acclaimed BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Armando Iannucciand Olivier Award winner Sean Foley in an explosively funny satire of mutually assured destruction.
