Tickets on sale for All About Eve with Gillian Anderson and Lily James

Tickets go on sale now for the new West End stage adaptation of classic movie All About Eve starring Gillian Anderson and Lily James at the Noel Coward Theatre.

ALL ABOUT EVE TICKETS

Adapted and directed for the stage by Ivo van Hove, it will run at the Noël Coward Theatre for 14 weeks, with reduced priced previews beginning on 2 February 2019. It is based on the Oscar-winning 1950 film written and directed by Joseph L Mankiewicz, starring Bette Davis and Anne Baxter.

Anderson will play legendary stage star Margo Channing whose number-one fan, Eve, becomes a young, ambitious rival, played by James. Monica Dolan has been cast as Karen and Sheila Reid as Birdie - roles that earned Oscar nominations for both Celeste Holm and Thelma Ritter - alongside Julian Ovenden as Bill and Rhashan Stone as Lloyd. Further casting is to be announced.

Music will be composed by double Mercury Prize-winner PJ Harvey, with sound design by Tom Gibbons, set and lighting by Jan Versweyveld and costumes by An D’Huys.

Tickets go on general release at 10am on Friday 28 September. Over 20,000 tickets will be available at £25 or under during the run, which ends on 11 May 2019.  The show is presented by Sonia Friedman Productions and Fox Stage Productions.

Anderson is an award-winning film, television and theatre actor who rose to fame in cult series The X-Files and has starred in acclaimed TV shows such as The Fall, War & Peace, American Gods, Hannibal and Bleak House and will soon be seen in new series Sex Education. Her stage roles include Blanche Dubois in the Young Vic's A Streetcar Named Desire for which she won an Olivier Award.

After graduating from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2010, James also starred in BBC1's War & Peace and played Lady Rose in Downton Abbey. Her film roles include Cinderella and Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!. On stage, she was in Kenneth Branagh's Romeo and Juliet as Juliet, Vernon God Little at the Young Vic and Othello at The Crucible in Sheffield.

Dolan is an award-winning actor whose work spans stage, television and film. Highlights include Rosemary West in Appropriate Adult (ITV) for which she won a BAFTA and Tracey Pritchard in BBC comedy W1A.

Reid has an extensive stage and screen career although she is lately best known as Madge in TV comedy Benidorm. She has played many classical roles, including two seasons for the Royal Shakespeare Company and seven years in Laurence Olivier’s first permanent company at the Old Vic Theatre.

Ovenden is best known for starring in musical theatre in the West End and on Broadway as well as other stage roles including My Night with Reg at the Donmar Warehouse. His many TV appearances include roles in Downton Abbey, Foyle's War and Knightfall.

Stone is a familiar face on TV and stage and will be seen in the third series of Delicious and the second series of Killing Eve.

Ivo van Hove has directed productions around the world alongside being director of theatre company Toneelgroep Amsterdam since 2001. UK credits include Network and Hedda Gabler at the National Theatre and A View from the Bridge at the Young Vic and the Wyndham's
