Shakespeare’s Globe is set to captivate audiences this winter with a fresh production of All's Well That Ends Well, directed by the renowned Chelsea Walker in the intimate setting of the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse. The announcement of a dynamic cast promises to breathe new life into one of Shakespeare’s more challenging plays, infusing it with contemporary relevance and thrilling dramatic appeal.

Leading the ensemble is Ruby Bentall, who will take on the role of Helena, a character known for her resilience and ingenuity. Bentall, celebrated for her versatile roles in both theatre and film, is expected to bring depth and intensity to Helena’s complex persona. Joining her is Kit Young as Bertram, whose recent standout performances, including his role in Netflix’s hit series "Shadow and Bone," have marked him as a rising star in the theatre circuit.

The production will also feature notable Shakespearean actors such as Catrin Aaron as Widow and Emilio Doorgasingh as Lafew, alongside Richard Katz, a seasoned Globe performer, who will portray the King of France. Each actor brings a wealth of experience and a unique interpretive skill set, promising a rendition of "All’s Well That Ends Well" that is as thought-provoking as it is entertaining.

Director Chelsea Walker's vision for the play emphasizes its thriller-like elements and satirical examination of social hierarchies and personal ambitions. Walker’s previous directorial ventures have been lauded for their insightful and provocative nature, and this production is anticipated to follow suit. “It requires a bold, playful ensemble of actors who are up for rediscovering and reframing this play for today’s audience,” Walker explained, underscoring the innovative approach the production aims to achieve.

The creative team is rounded out with Bethany Gupwell handling the evocative candlelight design and Simon Slater composing what promises to be an enchanting musical score. The costumes, designed by Rosanna Vize and Megan Rarity, are expected to visually underscore the thematic currents of the play, blending historical authenticity with a modern aesthetic.

All's Well That Ends Well will run from November 8, 2024, to January 4, 2025, with its press night scheduled for November 21. The Globe continues to make Shakespeare accessible and exhilarating for modern audiences, and this production is poised to be a highlight of the theatre season.
