Thriller Live ended its 11 year run at London's Lyric Theatre on Sunday 15 March 2020, a bit earlier than planned when London theatres closed due to Coronavirus.

Can it really be eleven years since Thriller Live opened in the West End? Originally booked to play just six months from January to May 2009, it became a focal point for fans mourning the sudden loss of the man they labelled The King Of Pop. In place of huge concerts at the O2, fans found a brilliantly staged tribute that paid homage to their idol and it wasn't long before it started to sell out and extend. In fact, it extended twenty times!

Thriller Live closed on 15 March 2020 after playing 4657 performances making it the 11th longest-running West End musical of all time. It also holds the record as the longest-running show at the Lyric Theatre since it opened in 1868.

Thriller Live has now been seen by over 5 million people in 33 countries and played over 7,000 performances worldwide, never failing to get a standing ovation!

In a statement, the Producers said: “We would like to thank everyone who has worked on the show; the cast, band, crew, creative team, head office, freelance contributors and theatre staff past and present. We have the BEST team in the world. We’ve loved sharing the music and magic of MJ in London and we will keep the legacy alive on tour. Finally a MASSIVE thanks to all you Dancing Machines, we just can’t stop loving you. Ticket holders should contact  point of purchase.”

The second production of Thriller Live is still touring the world although it is now paused whilst the Coronavirus pandemic is being bought under control and will resume soon.

The Thriller Live Creative team are Director/Choreographer Gary Lloyd,  Musical Supervisor and Head Arranger John Maher, Set Designer Jonathan Park, Lighting Designer Nigel Catmur, Associate Lighting Designer Matt Lee, Video Content Designer Colin Rozee and Potion Pictures, Costume Stylists and Supervisors Shooting Flowers, Sound Designer Chris Whybrow, Casting Director Debbie O’Brien, Associate Choreographer Jo Dyce, and Media Programmer Sam MacLaren.

Thriller Live was originally conceived and created by Adrian Grant, a long time associate of Michael Jackson and produced by Paul Walden and Derek Nicol for Flying Music in association with Adrian Grant for Key Concerts.
