BOOK TICKETS Billed by Cirque Du Soleil as a waking dream of Mexico, there is always quite magical when Cirque Du Soleil comes to town. It's been something like 630 days since this amazing troupe held what was their yearly residency at the Royal Albert Hall and I, for one missed them.

Luzia is pure joy from start to finish. Vibrant and alive, Cirque's performers continue to defy Newton's Laws of Gravity. For Cirque, what goes up stays up or flies through the air with ease.  Even when staying on the ground they seemingly do the impossible through contortion or in bringing life to a majestic tiger or a galloping horse. With Luzia, you can throw a waterfall with a sense of humour and you get an idea of what you might be in for!

Favourites tonight included the aerial straps and the Russian swings whilst the children behind me were gobsmacked by the contortionist and absolutely adored the antics of the clown whose 'waking dream' Luzia is.

Hopefully, with the variety of acts presented each night, Luzia might prove more resilient when it comes to Covid-19 than other shows. As for the mandatory wearing of masks, it was embarrassing to say that there were more masks on the cast than the audience.

Tonight made for a perfect start to the Royal Albert Hall's 150th Birthday and to celebrate 25 years of Cirque Du Soleil in London.

Don't miss this remarkable company!
