The Musical Theatre Appreciation Society (MTAS), the UK’s largest musical theatre fan base, is reviving their exciting online competitions in 2019 with #MTACOMP19
The intense 10 week competition challenges competitors to produce singing videos in response to themes given by the most celebrated West End performers. Past competitions have had challenges from stars of Hamilton, Aladdin, Dreamgirls and Kinky Boots. This year's prizes include £100 in theatre tokens, personalised stagey merchandise, free auditions to selected drama schools and more!
MTAS Managing Director, Willy Mukendi says “I’m extremely excited to bring back the MTAS competitions, a safe but competitive place for performers to show their talent. It’s a real confidence boost for those who have always been too nervous to put themselves out there. The level of talent is always incredible with thousands of future West End stars stepping into the spotlight. I can’t wait to see what 2019’s competitors bring - welcome to your new online obsession!”
Auditions run from the 1st-10th January. To audition, simply upload yourself singing your favourite show tune to the Musical Theatre Appreciation Society facebook page using the hashtag #MTACOMP19. The 10 videos with most like and heart reactions will move on to become the competitors in this 10 week nail-biting musical extravaganza.
Previous winner, Olivia Lawrence says “People I had never met before were telling me they had voted for me. The competition was bigger than I thought it would be. It was such an amazing experience. God I wish I could do it all again” To find out more visit the MTAS at Facebook, on Twitter or Instagram.
