Broadway and now West End star Marisha Wallace decided to record Tomorrow from the musical Annie as a sign of better things to come in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Proceeds from the single will go towards COVID-19 relief offered through The MAD Trust (UK) and Broadway Cares (USA) marking the first time that these two important theatrical charities have teamed up.
Wallace's interpretation of this Broadway standard by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin proves powerful and relevant at a time when the world needs huge doses of love and positive thinking.
Watch closely and you'll see stars of the West End and Broadway in this incredible video which had us in tears this morning. Taking part are Katharine McPhee, David Hunter, Lea Salonga, Beverly Knight, Ben Forster, Nine West, Kerry Ellis, and Leslie Odom Jr amongst others.
One of the hardest working personalities on stage (on both sides of the Atlantic), Marisha burst onto the West End stage here at the Savoy Theatre in Dreamgirls as Effie and in Waitress as Becky and is due to play Maybelle in the upcoming Hairspray revival at the Coliseum.
With over 290,000 entertainment industry professionals unemployed due to the Covid-19 pandemic this superb cover of Tomorrow is sure to provide a message of hope for those performers who we look forward to seeing when theatres re-open.
