The Sound Of Music UK Tour 2018

Lucy O'Byrne and Neil McDermott play Maria and The Captain in The Sound Of Music UK Tour Producer Bill Kenwright has announced that Lucy O'Byrne and Neil McDermott will lead The Sound of Music UK Tour in 2018 as Maria and Captain Von Trapp. The Sound of Music is to play a Christmas season at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre from 19 December 2017 before launching from the Churchill Theatre Bromley on 9 January 2018. Lucy O'Byrne was the runner up on BBC One's The Voice in 2015 becoming the first classical singer to make the final. She played Maria in the 2016 UK tour of The Sound of Music winning rave reviews she played the role of Fantine in Cameron Mackintosh's production of Les Miserables in London's West End.

Neil McDermott joins this production having previously played the role of Rolf in The Sound Of Music at the London Palladium. Neil played the recurring role of Ryan Molloy on EastEnders between 2009 and 2016. He played the Chief Weasel in The Wind In The Willows and the London Palladium and Lord Parquaad in Shrek at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

The Sound of Music tells the true story of the world-famous singing family, from their romantic beginnings and search for happiness, to their thrilling escape to freedom as their beloved Austria becomes part of the Third Reich at the start of WWII.
