Live At Zedel 2018 Summer Season Announced

Live At Zedel, Soho’s unique live entertainment concept at Crazy Coqs, announces their new 2018 summer season produced in partnership with Fane Productions.

James Albrecht, Artistic Director says: “This season we present our most comprehensive range of musical theatre talent to date as well as some excellent cabaret, musical and theatre shows. I urge you to have a look as there truly is something to entice everyone. We look forward to welcoming you soon.” Highlights of the 2018 summer season include Girls Aloud pop star Kimberley Walsh in her Live At Zedel debut An Intimate Evening with Kimberley Walsh revisiting classics from her illustrious career, designed specifically for the intimacy of Crazy Coqs and Kerry Ellis with a three-week residency in September to celebrate the 20th anniversary since her London stage debut. On Burt Bacharach’s 90th birthday, Lauren Samuels appears in A Celebration of the Life and Works of Burt Bacharach, joined by Classical Brit Award nominee Laura Wright and singer-songwriter AJ Brown. Matt Henry (Kinky Boots) makes his solo debut performing songs from musicals he has appeared in as well as his own material and Emma Kingston (Evita) returns for a brand new solo concert following her sold out debut in April. Other musical theatre guests include Rachel Tucker (Wicked) who returns after her sell-out appearance in 2017 and Olivier Award winner Rebecca Trehearn (Showboat) with Tim Connor and Lia Buddle’s song cycle Heart of Winter. Also appearing are Trevor Dion Nicholas (Aladdin), Ryan Molloy (Jersey Boys), Lorna Dallas (Showboat), Summer Strallen (Love Never Dies), Celinda Shoenmaker (Phantom of the Opera) and Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary (The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole). Following its critically acclaimed world premiere in April, Alexander S. Bermange’s I Wish My Life Were Like a Musical returns for two weeks in August with a yet to be announced all-star West End cast. Also returning by popular demand is La Voix Meets… with special guest and queen of BBC morning raido Vanessa Feltz. As ever, cabaret shows and performances that dedicate themselves to the work of single artists have a strong presence in the season. One of the world’s most celebrated Liza Minelli interpreters, Rick Skye is Liza Live! crosses the pond to perform a series of shows in August and Australian Michael Griffiths returns with his new hit Lucky: Songs by Kylie as well as reprising In Vogue: Songs by Madonna and Cole: Songs by Cole Porter. Crazy Coqs Presents is a new series of shows, each with a different musical theme presented by lyricist Mark Petty with musical direction by William Sharma. Themes include Classic Songs from the Musicals (10 June), Pride at the Musicals (7 July) and The Disney Show (11 August). Joe Stilgoe returns for his summer residency with guests including Rufus Hound, Sharon D. Clarke, Barry Cryer, Louise Dearman, Emma Hatton, Julian Ovenden, Clive Rowe, Guy Barker, Giacomo Smith and Julie Biel. Other residences include London’s leading cabaret experts Black Cat with ‘Salon des Artistes’ most Saturdays at 9.15pm, comedy cabaret chanteuse and Crazy Coqs institution Miss Hope Springs every month, Harold Sanditen’s Open Mic Party and comedy songsters Bounder & Cad: Class Clowns. Theatre highlights include the critically acclaimed solo show Quentin Crisp: Naked Hope written and performed by Mark Farrelly, adult puppeteer The Clementine Show and feminist drag-show Man-Up.
