Jamie Muscato and Frances Mayli McCann to Lead The Great Gatsby Musical

The London Coliseum has announced lead casting for the West End premiere of The Great Gatsby musical. Jamie Muscato will take on the role of Jay Gatsby, with Frances Mayli McCann starring as Daisy Buchanan in the production, which opens April 11, 2025.

"Gatsby is a character filled with mystery, passion, and longing," says Muscato about his upcoming role. McCann describes Daisy as a "complex, captivating character" that she's eager to explore.

Creative Team

The production features a book by Kait Kerrigan and an original score by Tony Award nominees Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen. Marc Bruni, known for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, directs the show.

Production Details

Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel, the musical explores themes of wealth, love, and the American Dream. The production will run at the London Coliseum from April 11 through September 7, 2025, with further casting to be announced.

Musical arrangements are by Jason Howland, with orchestrations by Howland and Kim Scharnberg. Grammy Award winner Billy Jay Stein serves as music producer.
