The full cast has been announced for the new production of Harold Pinter’s The Caretaker coming to Bristol, Southampton and Northampton.

David Judge and Jonathan Livingstone will play brothers Mick and Aston alongside the previously announced Patrice Naiambana in the role of the homeless Davies.

A joint production between Bristol Old Vic and Northampton’s Royal & Derngate, this “radical” revival promises to bring “Pinter’s classic to life for a new generation”.

It will be directed by Christopher Haydon, his first major production since his tenure as artistic director of London’s Gate Theatre, with design by Oliver Townsend.

It runs at Bristol Old Vic from September 9 to 30 and then plays Nuffield Southampton Theatres from October 10 to 14 before a run at Royal & Derngate in Northampton from October 17 to 28.

Jonathan Livingstone’s previous stage career includes Benvolio in the Globe production of Romeo and Juliet, Now We Are Here at the Young Vic, Our Country’s Good at the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Taming of the Shrew and Cheek by Jowl’s ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore. He was also part of the National Theatre/West End production of War Horse and is best known for playing Boy Tracy in E4’s Chewing Gum.

David Judge was a regular in the Channel 4 series Hollyoaks playing Danny Valentine. Stage work includes Fatherland and Scuttlers at Manchester Royal Exchange, Eleventh Capital at the Royal Court and A Taste of Honey at Sheffield Crucible.

Patrice Naiambana has most recently starred in the sell-out National Theatre production Barber Shop Chronicles. His previous work includes the title role in Kathryn Hunter’s Othello, Warwick the Kingmaker in Michael Boyd’s Olivier Award-winning Shakespeare’s Histories, and Aslan in Adrian Noble’s The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, all for the RSC.
