Dame Maggie Smith The Orange Tree Theatre have announced that Academy, BAFTA, Golden Globe, Emmy, Tony and Olivier Award-winner Dame Maggie Smith will join Giles Brandreth in the second Under The Orange Tree talk.
This series of talks with our most distinguished actors is a celebration of British theatre's history and its especially collaborative nature, giving us a chance to see great artists talk up-close.
Said Gyles Brandreth: “I have admired Maggie Smith since I first saw her at the National Theatre at the Old Vic in the early 1960s. Her career has been extraordinary, her talent is unique. She has worked with all my heroes, from Laurence Olivier to Kenneth Williams. I’m so excited to be talking with her in the intimate setting of the Orange Tree Theatre. To share a stage with Dame Maggie has to be any theatre-lover’s dream!”
Funds from tickets raised by the Under the Orange Tree series will go to support the work of the Orange Tree Theatre; from re-discovered plays, to developing new work, to introducing primary school children for the first time.
Tickets are £100 and available online only* from midday Tuesday 5 September.
