Chloe Moss's play How Love Is Spelt is to receive its first major revival at Southwark Playhouse this September.

Brickdust and Project One are to present Chloe Moss's How Love Is Spelt directed by Charlotte Peters (Associate Director War Horse UK Tour and An Inspector Calls West End) from 4 - 28th September 2019 at Southwark Playhouse. Set in 2004, How Love Is Spelt tells the story of Peta, who’s new in town and ready for whatever London has to throw at her. She’s looking for romance, for friendship, for exciting people to lead her on big adventures. But being an independent woman in the new millennium isn’t easy, especially when there’s a constant reminder of the life you’re trying to escape. With each new encounter, Peta flirts with what might have been, but has the journey to London put enough distance between her and her past? This nostalgic and honest meditation on love and relationships from Susan Smith Blackburn Prize-winning playwright Chloe Moss (This Wide Night, Soho Theatre; Dickensian, BBC), was first produced and performed at the Bush Theatre in 2004. Chloe Moss is an accomplished playwright and screenwriter. Her celebrated play This Wide Night (Clean Break, Soho, 2008) won the prestigious Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and was subsequently produced off-Broadway, starring Edie Falco. Chloe has written numerous other plays including The Gatekeeper (Royal Exchange Theatre, 2012), Fatal Light (Soho Theatre, 2010 & 2011), Catch (Royal Court, 2006) and How Love is Spelt (Bush Theatre, 2004, & New York’s Summer Play Festival, 2005). She is currently under commission to the Royal Court, Headlong and Soho theatre. Chloe has also written extensively for television. Most recently she has written on Six Wives for BBC One and Dickensian for Red Planet Pictures and written episodes for BBC One’s New Tricks, The Smoke for Kudos, and Prisoner’s Wives and The Secret Diary Of A Call Girl with Tiger Aspect. She has also written Care, a single drama for Warp Films and Sky Arts, and an original series Switch, co-written with Tim Price, for Touchpaper / ITV2.

Casting is to be announced.
