It was announced yesterday (March 12) that Broadway Theatres would close beginning at 5pm due to the global Coronavirus pandemic.

The announcement of the closures was made by Governor Andrew Cuomo. The closures will last through 12 April 2020. He added that no gatherings of more than 500 people will be allowed, excepting schools, hospitals, mass transit and nursing homes. For gatherings under 500, the seating capacity will be halved.

“Our top priority has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of Broadway theatregoers and the thousands of people who work in the theatre industry every day, including actors, musicians, stagehands, ushers, and many other dedicated professionals,” said Charlotte St. Martin, President of the Broadway League, in a statement. “Broadway has the power to inspire, enrich and entertain, and together we are committed to making that vital spirit a reality. Once our stages are lit again, we will welcome fans back with open arms so that they can continue to experience the joy, heart, and goodwill that our shows so passionately express every night.”

Ticketholders should contact their point of purchase regarding refunds or exchanges.

Our thoughts go out to two very special productions. To the cast, crew, creatives and producers of Six the musical which was to have opened last night on Broadway and to Marianne Elliot and Chris Harper, the cast, crew and creatives of Company which was to open on 22 Match after it's acclaimed West End run. Our thoughts are with you and know you will come back all guns blazing.

There have been no announcements made about closing West End Theatres, we will keep you informed if any decisions are made to that effect. In the meantime please ensure you get information on Coronavirus and how to protect yourselves from reliable sources.
