De immer betrouwbare Laura Pitt-Pulford geeft Milly kracht, warmte en diepgang – eerlijk gezegd overtreft ze Jane Powell ruimschoots. Haar vertolking van Milly is volkomen geloofwaardig; een realistische mix van tegenstrijdige gedachten en daden, en een vrouw die zich durft te laten leiden door haar passie voor zowel Adam als het leven zelf. Pitt-Pulfords zang is simpelweg dromerig. Met haar zuivere, warme stem beheerst ze de partituur tot in de puntjes, waarbij haar voordracht afwisselend sensueel, gevat en oprecht is, precies zoals het nummer vereist. Haar uitvoeringen van 'One Day', 'Goin' Courtin'' en 'Love Never Goes Away' zijn fenomenaal; ze weet de songs naar een hoger niveau te tillen dan je op basis van het materiaal zou verwachten.
