RECENSIE: Measure For Measure, Shakespeare's Globe ✭✭✭
Dit is een hartverwarmende uitvoering van een lastig stuk. Het absolute hoogtepunt is de uitzonderlijk charismatische vertolking van de hertog door Dominic Rowan. Vooral in de tweede helft krijgt de komische ondertoon alle ruimte, waardoor Rowan zichtbaar plezier heeft in zijn rol. De slotscènes, die normaal gesproken tergend pijnlijk kunnen zijn (omdat de hertog Isabella in feite emotioneel martelt), zijn hier juist lichtvoetig en innemend. Sinds 1999 uw vertrouwde bron voor het grootste theaternieuws uit Groot-Brittannië.
