Hit shows in London’s West End have inspired the team at a Covent Garden bar to create a special list of cocktails.
The Showstopper Collection has been introduced at Christopher’s in Wellington Street in the heart of Theatreland, ranging from pre-show sharpeners through to post-show nightcaps.
The team of bartenders have created the cocktails by combining ingredients evocative of each show’s themes and visual elements, from the sophisticated glamour of Chicago to the drama of King Lear. Even Hamilton over at the Victoria Palace Theatre has got in on the act with a cocktail combining Slane Irish Whiskey with Baileys Irish Cream liqueur, Frangelico hazelnut liqueur, caramel syrup and a double espresso. The Kinky Boots cocktail is a mix of tequila, Yellow Chartreuse, pomegranate syrup and grapefruit juice. For Chicago, they have created a drink with raspberry vodka, crème de cassis blackcurrant liqueur, St-Germain elderflower liqueur, blueberry puree and prosecco. For King Lear starring Ian McKellen, the cocktail combines the more serious flavours of Diplomático Reserva Exlusiva Rum, Mandarine Napoléon liqueur, and Angostura and orange bitters.
All cocktails are priced between £13 to £15.
