Many shows have to scream to be heard at the Edinburgh Festival. This one doesn't, taking us quietly through sex, love, homophobia, loss and memory with a quiet persistence. Writer and director Terry Geo has created a script from life experiences, stories from other cultures and his work with Stonewall to create a piece that needs to be seen by anyone who needs their homophobia challenged.

On a bare stage he tells a story that all LGBTQ people will connect with, the sadness and the celebration of love. Returning to the stage after a long break, it's understandable that occasionally he needs to be still, to allow us to come to his story. But it's written and performed from the heart, and, for me, that goes a long way. Lacking any cynicism, this play held me. It's a quiet gem.
