What a pleasant discovery. Perfect venue. Really intimate and just right for the comedy gig we saw (Sarah Keyworth who’s a genius). The staff were all really nice too. Lovely crowd.

The staff was very kind and the work in progress put on by Aisling Bea yesterday was great, but the table/seat numbering as well as the entry process at this theatre are a nightmare. Getting in, people were forced to wait on a narrow staircase while the entrance to the main theatre was bottlenecked by people coming in and out of the bar area. The table and seat numbers are completely unintuitive, leaving people being shuffled by staff from seat to seat in a series of narrow, cramped areas of tiny tables and tinier seats. I can only imagine this happens every single show and I can't fathom why they chose this system. Never seen another club/pub/comedy show set up like this. They've got to come up with a better system.

We saw the Witches matinee there yesterday and enjoyed it a lot. Great panto, truly excellent performers, lovely atmosphere too. The virtual cameo appearances of Jeremy Corbyn as the Wizard of Oz-lington and Ian McKellen as Toto the Dog were delightful and fitted right in.

I didn’t just attend a show at the Pleasance, we had our wedding there. It was perfect. Guests were handled ideally, bar staff and event staff working in tandem to move people into the main room for the ceremony. Upstairs my bride had her own changing room with someone on hand to move her downstairs in time. Having a sound and light tech for your wedding is next level, and all staff seamlessly integrated any suggestion that was important to us. Highly recommend anyone wanting a different type of wedding to consider The Pleasance.
