Yank! The Musical Announces London Transfer

Charing Cross TheatreNewsWest EndYank!

Following its critically acclaimed UK premiere at Manchester's Hope Mill Theatre, producers have today announced that the moving, war-time gay love story Yank! will come to London's Charing Cross Theatre for a limited season from 3 July - 19 August 2017. Tickets for Yank! are now on sale.

Yank! is based on the true, hidden history of gay soldiers during World War, focusing on the life of Stu, a scared Midwestern youngster who is called up to serve in the forces in 1943, becoming a reporter for Yank Magazine, a journal ‘for and by the servicemen’. Telling the stories of the men in Charlie Company, Yank! explores what it means to be a man, and what it is to fall in love and struggle to survive in a time and place where the odds are stacked against you.

Originally produced Off-Broadway in 2010. Yank! features a book and Lyrics by David Zellnik and a score from Joseph Zellnik which pays homage to the 1940's.

Yank! is directed by James Baker, musical direction by James Cleeve, choreography by Chris Cummings, designed by Victoria Hinton, lighting design by Aaron J Dootson and sound design by Chris Bogg.

Yank! is produced by Katy Lipson for Aria Entertainment, Hope Mill Theatre, Ben Millerman with Jim Kierstead and Guy James.
