Guest Reviewer Sue Lewis reviews Standing On A Nail: A Queer Horror Story, showing at Colchester Arts Centre for the Colchester Fringe Festival. Standing On a NailColchester Arts Centre 4 Stars Colchester Fringe Festival Website Very clever use of the theatre space, using one of the theatre bars as part of the main sets and with a walkway though the audience seats for the actors, and the main stage area. The show begins with a frightening scene, darkness, and mist.  A great opening full of atmosphere and fright. There is so much to think about with this show and very cleverly done. Five gay men are locked in a show bar. One of the men gets attacked by a horrible monster without a face. The actors were very convincing. It haunted me, leaves you thinking as you leave the theatre. Thought-provoking.
