The Olivier Awards 2019 is being held this Sunday 7th April at the Royal Albert Hall. Here's a taster of what to expect from this year's theatre night of nights.
Who is hosting this year's Olivier Awards?
This year the Olivier Awards will be hosted by Jason Manford.
The Presenters at this year's awards will include Jade Anouka, Zawe Ashton, Joanne Clifton, Kevin Clifton, Charlie Cox, Arthur Darvill, Danny Dyer, Paapa Essiedu, Gloria Estefan, Sally Field, Ncuti Gatwa, Kelsey Grammer, Ruthie Henshall, Tom Hiddleston, Judy Kuhn, Art Malik, Jack McBrayer, Katharine McPhee, Wunmi Mosaku, Danielle de Niese, Andy Nyman, Pasek and Paul, Wendell Pierce, Bill Pullman, Shane Richie, Harriet Scott, Thea Sharrock, Ashley Shaw and Layton Williams.
How can I watch the awards? The Awards will be broadcast backstage glimpses and interviews worldwide via Facebook, with the Red Carpet Live broadcast on the Olivier Awards Facebook page from 4 to 5.30pm. The awards ceremony starts at 6 pm and finishes at 9 pm.
The Olivier Awards is in partnership with ITV and they will broadcast the show later the same evening (10.20pm Sunday). The entirety of the ceremony will be broadcast live on Magic Radio hosted by Ruthie Henshall and Alice Arnold.
Jason Manford Who is nominated? You can view the full list of nominees for the 2019 Olivier Awards here. Who will be performing at the Olivier Awards? The In Memoriam section of the show will feature a performance, Beverley Knight, as tribute is paid to those in the theatre industry who have passed away over the past year. There will also be a special performance from Disney’s The Lion King, celebrating the iconic production’s 20th anniversary in the West End. This year's awards will also feature performances from all of the musicals nominated in the Best New Musical and Best New Musical Revival categories including Caroline, Or Change; Come From Away; Company; Fun Home; The King and I; Six and Tina - The Tina Turner Musical. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Mamma Mia! in the West End, the show’s ‘Donna and the Dynamos’ (Sara Poyzer, Ricky Butt and Kate Graham) will also be presenting an award.
Of course, the one thing we can tell you is who will win! The one thing that is for sure is that this year's Olivier Awards once again showcases the very best of British Theatre on every level.
