There are a wide range of plays running in the West End at any given time. From modern playwrights to Shakespearean classics you can choose to see a show in a traditional theatre or visit a site specific production performed in a location specifically chosen to enhance your theatre experience.
If you are a Shakespeare buff you can't go wrong paying a visit to e to see a production in its original setting. A visit to the Globe or to the Sam Wannamaker Playhouse is about as close as you will get to an authentic experience.
On the Southbank you can also pay a visit to the National Theatre.
