Sutton Foster joins Anything Goes London cast as Reno Sweeney

Broadway star Sutton Foster steps in to reprise her Tony Award-winning performance as Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes as Megan Mullally with an injury.

Sutton Foster Multi-award-winning actor and legendary Broadway star Sutton Foster will reprise her Tony Award-winning role of Reno Sweeney in Cole Porter & P.G. Wodehouse’s lavish musical comedy Anything Goes this summer at London’s Barbican Theatre.  She will replace Megan Mullally, who has unfortunately had to withdraw from the show due to a short-term injury, in this year's must-see musical which opens on Friday 23 July for a strictly limited season. Tickets are on sale now.

Foster, who will be making her West End debut, starred in Kathleen Marshall's smash hit multi-award-winning Broadway production of Anything Goes. She won a Tony, a Drama Desk and an Outer Critics Circle award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for her critically acclaimed performance in this iconic musical theatre role. She was also bestowed the Fred Astaire Award and the Broadway.com Audience Favorite Award.  Foster reunites with Marshall to bring this new revival of one of the all-time great musicals to the London stage.

Foster will star alongside Tony, Olivier & BAFTA Award winner Robert Lindsay as Moonface Martin, Evening Standard Theatre Award winner Felicity Kendal (The Good Life), also making her West End musical debut as Evangeline Harcourt and leading West End musical actor Gary Wilmot as Elisha Whitney.

Sutton Foster said: "I have been looking forward to performing on the West End for a long time and I am thrilled to be making my debut by revisiting the iconic role of Reno Sweeney. I am so excited to get back on stage and feel grateful to be a part of welcoming London audiences back to the theatres this summer. I am looking forward to working again with Kathleen Marshall, Robert Lindsay, Felicity Kendal, Gary Wilmot and the whole London company on this new production of this beloved musical.

With music and lyrics by Cole Porter and the original book by P.G. Wodehouse & Guy Bolton and Howard Lindsay & Russel Crouse, Anything Goes will premiere at the Barbican Theatre from July to October 2021.
